brackenham is home to many of the indians in richardsbay it is a busy area and has many interesting people not forgetting the schools etc.... actually it is a very busy residential area but new people(from my point of view) thinking to move there should definitely keep a low profile because people love minding other peoples business........ but otherwise great area

RichardsBay is named after Frederick William Richards, R.N. born on 30 November 1833 in County Wexford, Ireland. He joined the Royal Navy at the tender age of 15 and underwent his training at the Naval School, New Cross.

there's approximately 5 high schools and 13 primary schools in richards bay. there is a primary and high school in Aquadene, a high and 2 primary schools in Brackenham, a private christian school and a primary school in Veldenvlei, an afrikaans high school + another high school and 2 primary schools in Arboretum, a primary school in meerensee, a private school in Alton and quite a few schools in the RBM funded areas beyond meerensee.

RichardsBay Ski-Boat club is situated on the north-east side of the RichardsBay port across the road from the main beach. The club provides excellent facilities as a base for deep sea and bay fishing. The club has also recently opened its facilities to members with Jet-Ski and Fishing-Ski interests. The club is also the base for the Zululand Police Deep Sea Angling club. The club boasts some of the best facilities available to Ski Boaters in SouthAfrica.
